As with my other blog at the beginning of every month I'll look back at what I got accomplished, but with an additional goal of creating a photo album for the year, too.
For the first big project of 2026 I completed this pretty throw out of thrifted Mandala Ombre yarn using a tweaked version of the free Worth Street Afghan pattern available from Mary Maxim.
I also finished this big beautiful basket that I started on New Year's Eve from a pattern by Jayda InStitches.
I made a shelf liner out of bulky gray yarn in single and double crochet (no pattern) for my glucose testing supplies, which is keeping them from falling through the bathroom closet wire racks. :)
I discovered how many emotional support chickens I can crochet out of bulky and super bulky yarn in one night: three!
I crocheted a big white cat stuffie out of blanket yarn.
I made another big beautiful crocheted basket out of variegated yarn in colors I'd likely never otherwise use plus some white to hold some yarn for Valentine's Day projects.
I got started on the next throw I'm going to make out of an interesting lot I thrifted, all in the colors of the dwarf iris flower.
I'm also going to keep track this year of how much yarn I use from my stash every month so I can thrift at least that much to replace it.* To do this I'm counting labels, and for skeins that have no labels I'm adding a note of how much and what type of yarn I used. For January my total was thirty-three skeins.
*Finances permitting.
