As I work on the mindless and infinitely relaxing Sherwood throw, I'm also thinking about what I want to do for the month ahead. I'd like to make some smaller projects this month -- maybe some amigurumi -- and also something in green for St. Patrick's Day.
I really need to get back to organizing my stash, too. I've done a little work on this but I used quite a bit in February, and I also have more yarn I've recently thrifted to add to it.
I'll also be looking around for a project this month for which I can use my thrifted Sweet Roll multiples.
Here's a screenshot of the free Monkey Bread throw pattern Premier has on their web site, and it looks really pretty. I'm not sure I want to do something that complicated, but if I work in some other solid white yarn I can make the medium or large size version of the pattern.
I'm toying with the idea of designing my own throw pattern now. It would be a four row repeat with V, cluster, double crochet and maybe my own variation on moss or iris stitch -- nothing too complicated. I'm still working it out in my head, and then I'd have to swatch it to figure out the counts before I make up the full size version.
After seeing all the unfair backlash against the designer of the 6 day star blanket over copyright issues I probably wouldn't publish it online at Ravelry or anywhere. I might put a tutorial on the blog but that's all.
I've also decided against inventorying my stash and putting it on Ravelry. I just don't want to get involved in any way over there because of the past issues, especially with the folks who run the site and the way they treat their users. My happiness and peace is much more important than their free services. I'll just reorganize the stash so I can clearly see what I have.
