I still look at lots at the online auction even when I'm taking a month off from thrifting (and please note I did not bid on any of the lots pictured in this post.) This messy lot would only cost about ten bucks with the one penny shipping plus a minimum bid, so it would be a nice bargain for vintage yarn if you don't mind sorting it out.
With shipping and winning this one for a minimum bid would have worked out to about $30.00. It's not a lot of yarn, but still cheaper than retail, and the colors and condition look nice.
This big lot also works out to about thirty dollars with a minimum bid, but I'm sure someone will grab it, or there will be a bidding war over it.
I like working out how much a lot is worth, too, even if I have no intention of bidding on it. It's good practice for when I do go back to thrifting, maybe in May. :)
