After that much-needed break I am back to blogging. I've decided to keep comments closed for the time being and my peace of mind, and that may end up being permanent. I appreciate your understanding.
Today let me show you the three lots of yarn I bid on recently at the online auction. This one was a 8+ lb. boxful of sashay, Red Heart and a mishmosh of other yarns. I put in a minimum bid of $11.00, but it ended up going to someone else for $12.99. I couldn't see the yarn clearly so I wasn't bothered by losing this one.
This 10 lb. lot included lots of Mandala yarns (which I love) but I wasn't expecting to win, and I didn't. The winning bid was a whopping $54.00 (it's not worth that plus handling and shipping to me would have been another $26.49, for a total of $80.49, which is practically retail for the Mandala. This is a perfect example of how bidding wars get out of hand, and why I don't go above my max bid.)
Finally this 10.5 lb. tub of yarns intrigued me because of the random mix of yarns, which includes some of the Wool Ease I've been collecting and a discontinued Caron Crystal Cake. Although a last minute sniper tried to steal it from me, I got it for my max bid of $27.00 (half of what the winner bid for the previous lot, which was half a pound less.) When it arrives we'll have a look and see what value I got for my $$$.
During my vacation week I also went on some blind dates with books, boxes and even a bracelet that turned out to be super interesting. Stay tuned to find out what they were. :)
