You may remember the lot of yarn that I won for my first and only bid because no one else bid on it, yes? I know, they're all starting to blur together now. But this one just arrived, so let's dive in and see if I was right about it.
From the listing photos I estimated there were about 22 skeins and balls in the lot. There are in fact 34, mostly skeins, unused or only partially used, plus three kits and not one but two skeins of Wool Ease (which is why I bid on the lot.)
I am collecting Wool Ease Thick and Quick for a winter project, and this Deep Lagoon skein is gorgeous! Getting another skein in worsted weight in Seaspray was a lovely surprise, especially as it is discontinued. I know off the top of my head that just these two skeins retail for about $20.00.
The three hat kits are just adorable. The Caron Cupcakes in Tutti Frutti is discontined and currently costs $14.99 on eBay. The Pom Rox runs $9.99, and the Keppi kit is $10.00.
The Keppi kit even has the necessary crochet hook included! Sweet. :)
The Sweet Roll yarn in Jello Pop is no longer on Premier's web site so I'm thinking the colorway has been discontinued. They normally retail for $5.99 but you can double that for a color not under production.
I love mystery yarn balls, and this one has me very intrigued. I see it turning into a granny square as I try to figure out what brand and colorway it is.
The Sundance Synergy is a Herrschners yarn, and I believe this color is Fresh Mint (I'll double check all that.) It currently retails for $7.99 a skein on eBay.
Most of the yarn without labels are acrylic or acrylic blends; there are a few with metallic twists that look like Big Twist Twinkle to me. All the yarn is clean and has no odor. To balance it all out let's price everything at $5.00 per item resale, which would be $170.00, almost twice what I estimated the lot was worth. I paid $9.99 for everything, or about twenty-nine cents per skein, ball or kit. This is one of the best lots I've thrifted this year.
I know I'm always saying this, too, but really: thrift your yarn, my friends.
