The next skein of yarn I used for the Iris throw was Starlette worsted in denim; I have three of these in that lot I thrifted. This is a 3.5 oz. skein of 100% acrylic yarn that retails for $4.99, and is Mary Maxim's longest-running and bestselling yarn line. I've never before seen it, much less used it, so I was interested to give it a go.
After working through a skein I can see why it's MM's top seller. The yarn was perfect with no splits or knots, and has an effortless hand to it. It's light and almost airy for an acrylic worsted. What you see in the bowl is all I had left of the skein after crocheting nine rows.
After three nights of work I have twenty-seven rows finished, and it's looking really pretty. I'm going to take a short break from the throw in order to finish my calendar project for January.
