Last month I thrifted a yarn lot by using the buy-it-now option; this because it had one big skein in particular I wanted for the Iris throw. It arrived with the little lot, so let's check it out and see if it was worth paying the flat fee.
There are nine skeins of yarn total, and they're all clean, odor free and have their labels.
The main reason I purchased this lot is the Lion Brand Pound of Love in Thistle; it matches the one I'm using for the Iris throw, so now I can do a border. This yarn retails for $14.99.
There was also a little Sweet Roll by Premier Yarns in Silver Swirl; I really like these cakes and I'm thinking of doing a black, white and gray throw this year. These retail for $5.99.
The lot had some interesting and rather pricey yarns in it, too. The Sincerely by Purl Essence in Sincerely Red retails for $10.00, and is no longer available as the line was rebranded as Big Twist by JoAnn. The Premier Ever Soft skeins in Raspberry and Iris retail for $10.59 each. The Red Heart with Love in Cameo retails for $7.99.
Altogether the lot would cost $79.13 if I had bought it new. I paid $24.99 with one penny shipping; tax added the total was $26.75. Definitely worth every cent. :)
