I'm going to try one more free throw pattern, Red Heart Swirling Fans, to see if it will suit me and my Sweet Roll Cinnamon Pop yarn. The nice thing about this one is I can make it in squares, and add some different colors (like white) if I run short.
I liked the pattern from the beginning, as it has a nice variety of stitches, and works up in the diagonal, which is refreshing.
It does turn out a lacey, different sort of block. The problems with this pattern are the general wonkiness of working in the diagonal, the stitch counting (which I believe I messed up), and a chain four/slip stitch edging that is a join as you go thing. In the end, not for me.
I went back to the Rolling Waves pattern and crocheted the first three rows of what the actual throw would be. I like this pattern, too. Just not in love with the lumpy look of the end result. Why am I being so picky? I don't know. Back to the drawing board.
