If you remember, I bid on and won a 10.5 lbs. lot of yarn in a tub that looked promising at the end of April. I couldn't see everything, but there were some nice yarns including a Caron crystal cake and some Wool Ease, and from the photos I counted at least 22 skeins. The lot has just arrived, so let's see if my intuition was right.
Wow! There were 42 skeins in the bag, almost double what I estimated. About half of the yarn is unused, and while a lot of the skeins are missing labels, it's easy to figure out that the original owner liked acrylic and acrylic blends.
The Wool Ease is a yarn I'm slowly collecting via thrifting for a big future project, and this skein is brand new.
I spotted one of these discontinued Caron Crystal Cakes in the listing pics, but there are actually two in the same color, and they're both unused. These retail currently for about fifteen to twenty bucks each.
Of course the Universe had to throw in some yellow Bulky Boucle skeins for me.
There were also two balls of eyelash yarn to go with it. :)
I am quite pleased with the variety of colors and types of yarn. I'd say this lot is worth about $240.00; I paid $27.00 for everything, or about sixty-four cents a skein. I will probably price it out exactly just to see what the retail would be. Thrift your yarn, my friends.
